Who we are
Lessons on Love is the practice of Adam Guzman-Poole and Andréanne Charron, offering spiritual therapy, relationship counselling, coaching, workshops, and books. We are the data controller for the information described here.
Questions about your data: adam@lessonsonlove.org
What we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, email address, and phone number when you sign up for a free gift, register for a workshop, book a call, or buy a program. Anything you choose to share in a form, an email, or a session.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive your name, email, the amount paid, and the last four digits of your card.
- Information collected automatically. Pages you visit, the device and browser you use, your approximate location from your IP address, and how you interact with our pages and emails (for example, whether an email was opened or a link clicked).
How we use it
- To deliver what you asked for: a workshop link, a booked session, a book, a program.
- To send you emails about the thing you signed up for, and related offers from us. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can stop them at any time.
- To understand which pages and ads bring people to us, so we can improve them.
- To keep our records, meet legal obligations, and prevent fraud.
The tools we rely on
We use a small number of trusted services to run Lessons on Love. Each one receives only the information it needs for its job.
- systeme.io stores our contact list, sends our emails, and hosts our checkout pages.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Our pages use the Meta Pixel, which sets cookies and tells Meta when someone visits a page, starts a checkout, or completes a purchase. Meta uses this to measure our ads and to show them to people likely to be interested. You can limit this in your Facebook ad preferences and by declining cookies in your browser. See Meta's privacy policy.
- Zoom hosts our live sessions and workshops.
- Google supplies the fonts on our pages and hosts some of our downloadable gifts.
- Netlify hosts this website and keeps standard server logs.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies for two purposes: to make pages work (for example, remembering the session you picked at checkout) and to measure advertising through the Meta Pixel. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, though some conveniences may be lost.
What we never do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not share what you tell us in a session or a coaching call with anyone, except where the law requires it or where there is a risk of serious harm.
- We do not send you email you have not asked for.
How long we keep it
We keep your contact details for as long as you are on our list. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and remove your details from active mailing within 30 days. Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Session notes are kept only as long as needed to support your work with us.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for marketing. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another place with data protection law, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email adam@lessonsonlove.org and we will respond within 30 days.
Where your information lives
We work internationally, and the services we use store data in the United States and the European Union. By using our site you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those places, protected by the safeguards each provider offers.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date below. Significant changes will also be announced by email to our list.
